How To Make Several Neckpieces With Lace Cords - DIY

Hi, how’s your weekend going?

Over the weeks I’ve discovered a real simple hack or DIY neckpiece(s) that I really love. I’ve been rocking them lately, and getting compliments as well.  I don’t really know if I should call it a DIY or a FASHION HACK since I didn’t really cut or sew or do anything of such.

The amazing thing about this DIY NECKPIECE is that you basically need just two items to make it, and it can serve as 4-5 neckpieces for you.
Now down to what you need…

Here’s What You Need;

  1. Lace cords (Tennis lacings)
  2. Pendants
3. Fancy buttons
Neckpiece 1: Long Neck-piece

You don’t need to do anything special here, just put your pendant on the tennis  lace cord and tie the ends.

Neckpiece 2: Perfect Fit Neckpiece

screenshot_2017-02-04-10-29-40-1.png

Over here it’s almost with the first but in this case, rather than tie it at the end, you tie it at the middle and make a bow with the remaining part of the lace cord (or you can as well leave it like that like I do sometimes).

Neckpiece 3: Tie-Front Choker

I think this is my favorite piece. Its super easy,  just tie the cord on your neck once (its not likely going to go around twice) and make a bow at the front.

Neckpiece 4: Button Choker
Here, you’d use a button in place of a pendant and tie it on your neck as a choker. Like in “Neckpiece 2” you can either leave the remaining cord like that or you tie a bow at the back.

I hope you enjoyed the post, and now you know several ways to use your tennis lace cords as a neck piece.
Whay do you think of this DIY/Hack? And Which neckpiece is your favorite?

Styling: How To Safely And Stylishly Rock Your Lingerie Outside The Bedroom.

Hello, I hope you are having a beautiful week going for you.
Lingeries, and by that I mean underwears and sleepwears are no longer confined to only the bedroom, you can now rock them outdoors, and it’s fast becoming a trend. Hello spring!

And while I’m still in the process of stepping out of my comfort zone, it took me some guts to actually rock my lingerie outside my bedroom. Initially I got this lovely piece as a sleepwear, but you know, some fashion pieces are just too cute to be left indoors like this one..IMG_20170322_054656_451

What I’m Wearing
Slip Top         – Jane Norman (Thrifted)
Mom’s Jean –  Thrifted
Kimono         –  Random buy
Shoes            – You already know…
Just in case you are wondering what kind of  situations is appropriate for you to wear lingerie out, here are some practical situations where you can actually rock your lingerie outside.
– Hot sunny days; For instance on the day I did this outfit shoot, the sun was so hot and overbearing but the moment I changed into this outfit I felt like I could finally breathe.

– For Night Outs; Either with the girls or with your mister. Lingeries are always a good way to go, they are often a combination of comfort and sexy.

– Fashionable Chic Look; Yes, if well styled you can achieve a very fashionable and chic look with your lingerie.
  • Laidback/Casual; Either you want to quickly get something at the mall,  check up on a friend or run errands, lingeries are always choice for the not too serious look.
  • And other situations I forgot to mention.
Here are things to consider before wearing your lingerie outside the bedroom.

1 – Details

If you are considering rocking your lingerie outside, then you definitely don’t want it to boring and that’s where the details come in. The details could be stones like mine, or lace, embroidery or even something totally different lot more.

2 – Do Some Layering.

Layering is very important, especially if you are not too comfortable wearing your lingerie alone. You can decide to layer a jacket or a kimono on your lingerie like I did or layer your lingerie like on a shirt or t-shirt.

3 – Keep It Simple.

Girl, you really don’t want to go overboard with this trend, just keep it simple and you’ll be fine. You might need some good courage to rock this trend, so put on your confidence and make the world your runway!

Ps: It was one hell of a hot sunny day,  you can peep me holding my handkerchief.
So after all read and seen, what do you think about wearing your lingerie outside your bedroom?  And is it a trend you would rock?

As for me it is, but I’d love to hear what you think. Please don’t scroll off without leaving a comment.
With love, Lydia.
Ciao…..

How to get Rid of Panty Lines

We have heard people say that the best way to avoid panty lines is to avoid wearing pant at all, but that is not true. There are things you can do to limit your risk of visible panty lines (VPLs) without forgoing underwear altogether.
  1. Wear thicker fabrics with more texture.
If you want to wear something tight on the bottom, jersey, silk, and other lightweight, slinky fabrics are not your friends. They’re too smooth and clingy. Save them for looser silhouettes that skim the body, rather than gripping it. Prints can sometimes be an effective means of masking VPLs, but if you really want to go tight, stick to textured fabrics, which help mask whatever lumps and lines might be lurking underneath.
2. Choose laser-cut underwear.
Victoria’s Secret, Commando, and Barely There all make no-show, laser-cut panties in lots of different styles that are about as thin as you can get while still wearing actual underwear.

3. Layer with tights or pantyhose.
A thin pair of tights or pantyhose should smooth out any lines you might have otherwise and they won’t add any bulk to your look. Promise.
4. Try an old-school slip.
Just make sure to run both the skirt and the slip through a wire hanger a few times before you put them on to discharge any static electricity.
5. Use what the professionals use.
There’s a reason professional stylist use thongs and G-strings exclusively. They might not be as comfy as a big ol’ pair of granny panties, but they work, and, honestly, G-strings are really not as bad as all that as long as they are not too tight.
6. If thongs just really aren’t your thing, try boyshorts.

Boyshorts are great because they go under the butt cheek instead of cutting across it. A little lace is also good for making the line less abrupt and not so noticeable. Just make sure it is a flat lace, so it doesn’t look lumpy under tight clothes.
  1. Get some good shapewear.
Spanx and Yummie Tummie both make laser-cut shapewear that are great for seamlessly smoothing everything out.

How to get a better posture - five steps

Poor posture not only looks sloppy, but it can also negatively affect your health, leading to back pain, headaches, and other problems. You can improve your well-being by following a few tips to better your posture.

5 Steps to Better Posture:
  1. Keep your back straight. Slouching creates a curved spine, which puts pressure on your back. Instead, work on keeping your back straight enough to maintain the natural curves in the spine. Your spine should have an inward curve at the neck (cervical curve), outward curve at the upper back (thoracic curve), and inward curve at the lower back (lumbar curve).
  1. Keep your shoulders back. Just like a slouchy back, when our shoulders are forward, we put undue stress on our shoulder muscles. Instead, practice keeping them back by doing a shoulder roll and then maintaining the relaxed position they’re in at the end.
  2. Strengthen your core. Strong abdominal muscles will better support your back and help good posture come more naturally. Exercises like those found in yoga and pilates help strengthen the core and encourage proper posture.
  1. Tuck your tailbone. Some of us don’t realize that we our lower back is out of alignment. You may need to practice pulling your tailbone in and notice if you feel a difference.
  2. Keep your chin up. It’s hard to slouch when you’re looking straight ahead.
Mayo Clinic recommends that you test your posture by standing with your back against a wall with your head, shoulder blades, and buttocks touching the wall and your feet 2 to 4 inches from the wall. Ideally, when you reach behind you and place your hand behind the curve of your back, you should feel about one hand’s thickness between you and the wall.
